Born in Burlington, Vermont in 1951, Ted got his degree in journalism from the University of Vermont. After a brief stint in radio news in his hometown, he went on to be a stringer for a Vermont newspaper. Cohen's drive to be a full-time newspaperman led him to the Press Herald in Portland, Maine.
Cohen is a member of the National Writers Union and a past president of the Vermont Associated Press Broadcasters Association. He is also a contributing writer to The Forecaster, a Maine newspaper, as well as a notary public.
